COBALT-CHROME

These biocompatible alloys are used both for dental and implants due to their excellent mechanical properties. They are usually alloyed with other metals like Molybdenum and Nickel to improve their mechanical properties.

Some Cobalt-Chrome alloys are:

• Phynox (=Elgiloy) CoCrMo alloy ASTM F1058
• MP35N alloy CoNiCrMo ASTM F562
• Co28Cr6Mo according to ASTM F75 (casting) or F799 (forging)
• ISO 5832 alloys Co20Cr15W10Ni , Co35Ni20Cr, Fe40Co20Cr10Ni
