Steels
Steels are widely used in defense and aerospace industry. They are generally classified in series of 4 digits. Here are some:
- Low, medium and high Carbon steels AISI 1xxx.
- Constructional steels AISI 4xxx
- Chrome Vanadium steels AISI 6xxx
- Chrome Silicon Manganese steels AISI 9xxx
Produced in wires, bars, sheets, strips, tubes, profiles. Could be supplied as non-coated, galvanized, Zinc-Aluminum (Galfan) or Tin coated
Typical applications:
- Vehicles’ various parts and accessories.
- Engine valve springs
- Truck leaf springs
- Fasteners, i.e. rivets, bolts, screws, washers, pins, etc…
- Parts for small arms
- Ordnance – ammunition links
