STAINLESS STEELS
Stainless steels are used for production of surgical tools and medical equipment due to their corrosion resistance and ability to be sterilized in autoclaves.
Biocompatible stainless steels have the affix LVM, for example 316LVM
Stainless steels are mainly classified into the following series:
- 200 and 300 series Austenitic
- 400 series Martensitic
- 17-7PH and 17-4PH Precipitation hardened stainless steels.
- Others Ferritic, Duplex
Produced in bars, wires, sheets, strips, tube, and profiles.
Typical applications:
- Surgical tools and other medical equipment and devices.
- Orthodontic and endodontic
- Bones reinforcement and replacement
